The idea behind it being, the more frequent the trades, even though less pips obtained per trade, the faster you can grow your account utilzing the compounding factor of interest per trade.
You can grow your account infintely faster making 10 pips per day than 50 pips per week. Even though you're making the same amount of pips at the end of the trading week, if you can compund per day rather than per week, the profit difference is staggering. Truly!

Thanks for your post. So far I have not had much time to look at shorter time frames. I have been using 4 hours which has been quite profitable but as you said it can get boring waiting for the signal to appear. I will start to relax the rules a little to increase the number of trades and hopefully profit!
When I get roudn to looking at variations I will post up the details.
