I think the live expert-advisor print function works this way.
1. The real-time expert-advisor print shows up in the journal tab of the terminal window.
2. Once a day (or perhaps when you close
metatrader) the journal (in the system window) trading entries transfer into a daily .log file at "\logs" (top level should be "Meta Trader 4\logs" for you). Also once a day (or when you close metatrader) the journal (in the system window) expert advisor system activity entries transfer into a daily .log file at "\experts\logs". So try checking both files the following day.
On the newest version of Metatrader I am just running my first live expert advisor starting last night so this is my best guess on how it works. If I am wrong someone else please respond.
