I have traded both stocks and the forex and I find that you will spend much more time studying stocks (if you play them right) than forex. When I choose to buy a stock or an option I have to research a whole lot of fundementals before I make my decision to go long or short because there are many different ways of analyizing earnings and a lot of times the earnings aren't even what people are looking at to base their decision on. You have to listen to conference calls, read financials, etc. Surprisingly enough, studying the economy as a whole as compared to studying one company is much easier because there are more defined variables to look at.
