There's no right or wrong way to chart, only what works for you. Yep I studied in detail arcs, parabola's, ellipses..... and i drag them out on occasion. Jenkins showed a way to chart the acceleration arc of a steep impulse or blow off ( you've heard the expression when price goes parabolic?) that's very good at capturing the end and time for the correction.
They are just tools, biggest problem is knowing when not just how to use em.
A very wise Trader once told me, Nothing walks through the forest in a straight line, else he suffers a bad head ache.
