| Looking for 5 good traders Hello Traders I am looking for a few good and honest traders to manage a total of 500k for me. I am quiet amazed at the persistency with which most people here persue a forex trading career and i thought that this might be a place to find a more dedicated trader than at those investment firms. Originally my plan was to let 1 trader manage the entire 500k investment capital but it seems that spreading the risk is the more reasonable way to go, at least until proven wrong. I am not a complete novice to investments and you will have to prove to me that you really can trade as good as you say. Therefore, starting this week i will begin a screening process. I have started a small blog were you have all the details incl. the email address to forward your applications. www.forextradersearch.blogspot.com |

| Re: Looking for 5 good traders 8.5% ROI per month!! Yes this return is possible for a month or even a year, but not consistently. I think the only traders you are going to attract are aggressive one year wonders... Please do some research on the performance of hedge funds/managed funds etc, I think you will find the majority won't get close to what you are asking for... I truly hope I'm wrong and this works out for you, I just think you are expecting too much...Anyway, good luck.. |

| Re: Looking for 5 good traders Looks like this guy is a scam artist anyway. He is only offering to have you trade a demo account initially....and for the privledge of applying??? a $500 application fee lol. Gees...I'm guessing he must really need 2.5k |

| Re: Looking for 5 good traders Nyman I notice that your blog has been removed...Have you found your traders??? Please update this thread.. Or was this just a scam as Aussie said.. |

| Re: Looking for 5 good traders Hi Norman No it is not a scam. It turned out that the 500 USD requirement was a good thing. It saved me having to deal with all the wannabes. I only got 2 traders but they are doing very well. The that were worried about a measly 500 USD dont know how to trade anyway as they are only focusing on losses that will show in their trading as well. Those 2 will get their 500 USD back at the end of the demo period no matter how they perform. So i am very pleased with what i got that' s why i took the blog off the net. | Re: Looking for 5 good traders Good to hear Nyman thanks for the update... Are your traders meeting the 8.5% monthly return you were after? Not that I don't think it can be done I just don't think it can be done over several years.. |

| Re: Looking for 5 good traders Hi Norman Yes both are meeting the monthly requirement even exceeding it so far. I am aware that 8.5 % monthly wont be accomplished every month but over the year i think that a full-time professional trader will meet that requirement every year.Wheather i am right remains to be seen of course. |

| That's great that your traders are meeting the targets however I am concerned that your expectations are a little high over the long term especially with appropriate risk management.. I am a full time professional trader for a fund we are quite small in the business with about $5m AUM...We have been returning about 40-60% on average over the years which is quite competitive...Here is a list of what the best large hedge funds returned in 2007: 1. RAB Special Situations Fund (RAB Capital London) - 47.69% 2. The Children's Investment Fund (TCI) (The Children's Investment Fund Management London) - 44.27% 3. Highl CDO Opportunity Fund (Highl Capital Management Dallas) - 43.98% 4. BTR Global Opportunity Fund Class D (Salida Capital Toronto) - 43.42% 5. SR Phoenicia Fund (Sloane Robinson London) - 43.10% 6. Atticus European Fund (Atticus Management New York) - 40.76% 7. Gradient European Fund A (Gradient Capital Partners London) - 39.18% 8. Polar Capital Paragon Absolute Return Fund (Polar Capital Partners London) - 38.00% 9. Paulson Enhanced Partners Fund (Paulson & Co. New York) - 37.97% 10.Firebird Global Fund (Firebird Management New York) - 37.18% http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedge_fund#Top_performing Now obviously there are probably a few doing better than these funds they might be a quite a bit smaller would probably struggle to keep the high returns going year after year...If you know of any funds getting 100% year after year please let me know I'd be very interested! |

| Re: Looking for 5 good traders Maybe my expectations are too high but i do not consider so called professional fund management companies the benchmark for performance. I can tell you that i was not too impressed with that fund manager that traded my stock account, i lost a significant amount. We shall see how it works out with those 2 guys. So far both are up over 20%..all within about 6 weeks and most importantly with a low risk strategy and without suffering any significant drawdowns. Still demo in my case but i got to tell you that both are also trading their own real accounts which are in the 25-50k range, so i remain hopeful. One trader was a professional currency trader for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt/Germany. He regularly takes a 10k account and turns it into 20k within 1 month on average. Once he got the 20k he quits because it is a higher risk strategy. To sum it up, so far i am very satisfied. Last edited by NYman; 11-26-08 at 04:35 PM. |

I am very pleased with both of them. Obviously 8.5 % is very achievable if one knows what he is doing. One trader clears around 50 pips per day and very consistently on top of that. Obviously, if you look around on those forums and read the junk most people post, you realize that their trading doesnt look any better and you dont have to be surprised why most of them never make it. So dont give up. 8.5% and more is achievable. I realize many even do better than that. |
