Hello Harvester,

I have been trying to change one of the indicators in Chart Studio for GFT. I use 2 Simple Moving Averages one set for Price: Close, Period:13 & Displacement:-1, the other SMA Price:Close, Period:8 & Displacement:-4 as they cross each other you go with the cross based on the I75 & TSI to confirm the cross.

What I have been trying to do is somehow change the name of one of the SMAs so I can configure the "Indicator Alarm" condition to notify me the cross has acurred. The delema I'm having when I change the SMA in Chart Studio the configuration changes for the indicator, the DISPLACEMENT part of the indicator setup is missing. Meaning the the Price:[open or close], Period:[XXX] are there but the Displacement is missing once installed with some form of name change.

How can I write or change the launage to be able to use the 2 different named SMA along with "Indicator Alarm" and have all 3 functions of the indicator work?

Hello Harvester and all trades as well,

I have a request and need some help. I would like to have an alarm sound when my SMA starts to retrace. I have been using 2 SMA, 1 at 5 the other at 20 on a 15 M chart. I watch for the 5 SMA to retrace and go with that trade for 10 pips, has been working great, but would like to have the system alarm me of the setup.

Would anyone be able help with this? By the way thank you for setting up this tread for GFT users, I had used Tradestation 2000i in the past for trading Futures, but relucktant to try TS7,8,or 9.

I hope this tread will become a helpful tool, keep up the great work. It would a wounderful thing if traders could come forward and share what has worked for them with others as well.

By the way, how can I attach a chart from GFT to attach to this tread to show what I have to offer?

I think you just take your picture like on PrtSc or any screen shot program, paset to a paint programg where you can make adjustments, edit, comments, etc. then go to browse button and attach file. I think you need to save in gif, png, txt zip, bmp, or jpeg when you save. I have not submitted to this forum yet, but seems like many other forums. I have not learned Chart studio yet or easy language for Trade Station but look for GFT to accept Trade Station's language in near future, so I here. I am Very interested in you crosses, but should be tried to other indicator as well like maybe RSI or others to confirm overbought oversold condition.

Hello, i am new to moneytec, and i trade GFT platform for several month now.

There is no posibility to link any startegy from CTL to DB2, and i called GFT support to help me create CTL indicator(Donchian channel) and thay told me they don't have person able to write CTL code ....
so dont expect much from GFT for now

Anyone can help me write Donhian channel in CTL ?

Hello,

i searched the internet and i could not find any forums regarding CTL language,just some coments.
From some topics i understund that CTL will not be possible soon to atach to dealbook as startegy for autotrading.
I also spoke with gft suport, thay dont have single person to provide help coding CTL language.
So i guess CTL is dead language,maybe only to write some indicator.
Latest i found today was that some traderobot(www.fx-strategy.com) can be programed and linked to GFT server to do the autotrade but it looks like gft does not alow everyone to use this fiture as thay are afraid to expose their API (personaly i think it is more because thay are afraid of good trades from customers).
As i understand we can program our systems in e-signal or tradestation and then traderobot will read those signals and transfer them to GFT(or fxcm).
Learning CTL now looks like waisting time for me.

I spoke to GFT today and they told me that in July that we will be able to auto-trade using ChartStudio. I have no programming experience, but would like to get the Bunny Cross set up so it will work with GFT Deal Book. Already have it running on CMS Visual Trader and there is code available for MetaTrader, but I have no idea how to transfer this to Chart Studio.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, i hope learning CTL will not be a wasting of time as SASA said, so, i just started translating some TradeStation functions to CTL. I will post my work here.

If we have a SET of functions already translated, then the strategy translation will be faster and easy.

Hi all,

i am glad to hear tha someone is trying to programm in CTL.Me personaly(educated programmer) dont have to much time to start learning CTL as i am live trading forex.
Right now i use prorealtime charts with backtest posibility and i have one, i think good system, wich i would like to transfer to CTL when system programation start to work in Chart Studio.
For now i would thank anyone who can translate Donchian chanell indicator to CTL.Here is the code i made in 'probuilder' language from prorealtime :

Simple code, i tryed once to write in CTL but i give up,to tired of changing languages...every few month (i tryed prosignal-intelichart,amibroker...)

This indicator is very usefull for trend folowing systems,i use it in my system wich i optimise to give good results for usdchf 30 min chart.
So if any one could write this in CTL i would be glad to share further my system and together to make it best possible for trading GFT in some future time.
When Donchian is translated to CTL i will then post the code for 'supertrend indicator' wich is second part of my system and cant be found easy so i would like it transfered to CTL also so we can build system in Chartstudio one part at the time.
