| i am using fxcm as broker and metastock pro fx + reuters feed for my technical analysis. the orders are made using fxcm's trade station... i'd really like/need to get fxcm's data feed into metastock pro fx and be able to send order to fxcm using metastock pro fx. i know, it is possible. there is software on the fxcm programmers site www.fxprogrammers.com. dde server & order2go. http://www.fxprogrammers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13 i am not able to set it up, since i am not really into programming and this software isn't the basic install, fill out some fields, set some checkboxes and have fun, thingy. i would be very thankful for advise. i am willing to pay for help, one shouldn't do the work for free. thanks in advance. |

| Re: Metastock Pro FX / Quotecenter & FXCM. How to setup? shortseller, I can't help you directly, I use MS with free feed via MetaQuotes from one of Alpari's servers main point I believe fxcm don't or didn't provide any history so you need to leave your computer on all the time during their market hours Sun thru Fri to collect price data, computer off means 'holes' in the data you can't combine the Reuters data with fxcm's as it will be different and will need 2 setup folders, and you can only be online with one or the other feed, not sure how you'd update Reuters but see if you can get some assistance at this forum: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/equismetastock/ once registered if you're interested in trying MetaQuotes as a feed go into 'Files' and look for the MetaQuotes zip -- use MS Offline not Realtime a final note, fxcm should be providing MetaTrader 4 beginning this month if they're on timetable; MetaQuotes/MetaTrader was first developed based on MS, if you aren't familiar with the program which is free you can try a demo from dozens of brokers I use this one: http://www.alpari-idc.com/ you'll see that most members here on MoneyTec use MT4; MT4 has a multi- thousands user base and there's a huge development of Indicators and Expert Advisors, only thing MT4 doesn't have is an 'Explorer', tho that may change during the development of MT5 |
