I'll probably be blasted for this, but I give 1 star.

I have not learned anything on Moneytec that has improved my trading. Most good info on trading I got is from using a search engine for trading information. It is unknown whether the participants on Moneytec actually make money trading or not. Should losing traders be giving advice? You should learn from those who are known to be actually succeeding in trading, like Larry Williams, Alexander Elder and the like.

Hi there 4xis2ez,

One of the great things about this forum is that very few if any, will shoot you down. It is a forum that respects all opinions, most of the time.

Good trading to all.....................

Why come here at all, If you receive better value searching goggle and or reading your pro traders books and courses? you should be doing that..

The thing I can't quite understand is if you recive no value here, why 455 post ?

Regarding 455 posts. I posted my own trades, maybe comment on something to help someone out. But personally Moneytec forum has not been helpful overall. It is mostly traders looking for the holy grail.

IMHO is true, mostly traders are looking for the holy grail.
But, MoneyTec is a good recipient where anyone can find every type of thought, all needed is here... is not a perfect place but is good to meet others traders. A community.

I have learnt much on MoneyTec which has improved my trading, and every day it seems I learn more - if sometimes only in the sense that I see the folly others are committing, and refrain from following suit to join them.

Certainly, some of the participants are making money. Hell, I'm making money. But I don't (yet) give trading advice, because I'm very new to forex and very much still in learning mode. But "losing traders" can and do - in their own way - give good advice. They can show you what not to do! They can tell of the traps they have fallen into, so you can recognise those traps before you step into one. They can help train you to discern the difference between good ideas and bad advice.

With an open mind, one learns from everything and everyone.

I don't know Dr Elder, but I am acquainted with Larry Williams. Larry's a nice guy. But in recent years, there has been some question about Larry's trading success. He's had great success selling his books and seminars and, if one pays close attention, he can teach one how he trades. But one is soon quite likely to discover that in order to actually trade like Larry Williams, it's almost a necessity to be Larry Williams!

What follows is a repost of mine from the thread "There's no such thing as a free lunch":
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No free lunch?

When I started trading (commodities) "back in the day", there weren't any free trader forums like Moneytec or Elitetrader. In fact, I didn't even own a computer. My wife (at the time) thought trading=gambling, and I had no one to talk with about what I was doing. My broker was charging me US$85 r\t commissions, my 'phone rang off the hook daily with cold-calls from hucksters hot on the scent of a greenhorn's money, and I thought I was all alone.

In a nutshell, greenhorns today don't realise how lucky they are to have resources like these websites and the experienced traders who share their insight and hard-earned knowledge of the trading scene, either for free or for a reasonable fee.

Had such resources been available to me when I began, they might have saved me many, many thousands of dollars, years of painful "forced awarenesses" (Thanks, Mark Douglas!), and considerable embarrassment over having been suckered by the snake-oilers who peddle very expensive but nutritionally worthless "lunches".
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, yes, Croesus, it really is about community. And I'm grateful we have this one. Thank you, MoneyTec. Five more stars!
