Yesterday i posted a question regarding Oanda in the
beginners forum & it disappeared.

So i then posted the same question in due diligence....
looking now it as also vanished.

any help from the mods ?

That does seem very strange indeed! I saw your post yesterday and basically agreed with you. I didn't actually repond to it because I didn't really have any information to offer you. I don't use Oanda myself. (I did wonder why you would be wanting to use that sort of broker rather than a spread-betting firm, since you live in the UK, but that's a different question altogether and there might be many possible answers to it!).

I can't for the life of me imagine that there was anything in your post that anyone could have taken offence to, or that could have breached any of the rules.

I hope you resolve the mystery of your missing posts!

In reply to your spreadbetting question - i am new to forex & am looking to
continue my papertrading / learning by placing very small trades.
Spreadbetting companys generally want you to bet over a pound per pip, unless you
know of any that will accept less ?

Understood. Good answer! I think the minimum is £1 per pip, yes. There's an unpopular company called Finspreads (I would not have anything to do with them myself!) that allows you smaller stakes just for the first 8 weeks. And there are several excellent ones (including CapitalSpreads, the best IMHO) where you can have "demo accounts" with "play money" to get practice in, if you wish. But it may not be what you're looking for, of course.

For what it's worth, I have certainly not heard anything terrible about Oanda, which is actually more than can be said for a lot of the competition! But I agree entirely with you about all the personal information, and so on. I think the usual story is that "regulations require us to ask for all this info". One never knows how true this is, of course, unless one looks at every firm's requirements and/or tries to find out from the regulator(s) what is _actually_ required!
