Even learn from a mentor is very similar to the other two. Personally I have approached trading using the books of Alexander Elder as a guide/mentor.

Question Develop a system without experience

to novice

I guess it is possible. For example, if someone knows TA well (experience is stocks) and/or have knowledge to program a model and backtest it.
It seems you can develop a system without personal experience on forex market. Am i right?

Other?

Mishak,

I was the bunny that selected other. It is a bit frustrating that you can only choose one of the slections.

I have used many of these methods including courses. software, self study, mentor, signal providers and develop my own system. All have had some input into my trading style and I couldn't really nominate one above the others.

I find trading is a constant learning experience where you should be always trying to improve your skills. Even the most experienced traders would have to agree with this, epecailly as the markets are so dynamic these days and with the constant improvement in technology etc, nothing stands still for too long.

Good thread by the way. Interesting to read about other trader's experiences and opinions. Cheers.

Mishak

Yes, but without any experience of trading anywhere it would be an exception.

Market experience and Robots

novice
I guess trading_robots use some kind of rules based on the price alone (including past prices and TA indicators based on it), so robots pay no attention to the market sentiment etc. There are rules about which TA indicator's value becomes a signals. So, download a robot and go ahead !? The experience is not mentioned as a part of a signal, is it ?

btw, strange that we have only a single vote for robots at the moment of writing

I have tried all of the options, and developing my own system has definitely improved my trading results

I'm trying to develop my own system and I'm getting my ass kicked. But I cannot vote against that choice nor the others as the original question assumes that you are, thus far, winning.
