I am using the FX-Auto trading platform and i see that along with the usual statistical columns for lots/open/close/pips/profit there is a stat column for "swap". What is this, and what effect does it have on trades? Thanks

Found the answer by searching the forum. Appears it's interest earned and lost on trades that are held over a day. The swap "point" value shown next to each trade can be calculated into dollars, which I don't know how to do. Anybody?

It's worked out by the interest rate differentials in whatever currencies your holding and for how long your holding them. Here's a handy calculator for u from Oanda
