Apparently, there are forces which are not understood that actualy influence everything on earth, even the markets.

Interesting... Markets are non-random but you can't trade it... Hmmm....
I am clarifying the point of this discussion. I am NOT interested in speculations, and mental gymnastics. All I am interested here is to know the market for PRACTICAL purposes. Is there an element that we have control of (TA or FA or whatever) or is it all bunk? Can a person make a living from trading FX through his/her skill rather than luck or just by selling it to more gullable people?

Maybe I should study Astrology...

You can trade it and make money but who said this job is as simple as 1+1=2 . Who said using 50% winning systems can't make your living.
For sure there is a way by studying TA and FA then practice for some time and definitely no need to study Astrology.

I feel an accent of impatience and depression which mostly follows a series of losing positions. My firend IMHO you need to go the extra mile. This game is psychology, money management and system. Are you missing something?

Problem with that is that it borders, no it is no better than random entry.

What EXACTLY do you mean by TA? I have done extensive backtesting using popular oscillators and trend following indicators. They have bombed in terms of predictive ability. With regards to FA I do not beleive that it is very useful for intraday trading. Even longer term trading is an iffy with using FA.

I study trading whole day long, every day.

I am missing a system. Psychology cannot add to a system it can only take away...

ANy replies to my previous posts (#19)in this thread? Have you seen randomly generated candlestick patterns? They look like forex/stocks!!!!

The were created using random number generator. I took a random value and added a random value between -x and +x (so that graph could go up and down). I used random numbers for H and low, etc.

About close only graph, there were MANY graphs done before me (using most advanced random number generators)and they were similiar to mine.

Fact is, regardless of who draws random generated graphs they WILL have
double tops, head and shoulders, triangles, ranges, trends, ELLIOT WAVES, etc. After all, it is basic statistics/math/, etc regarding how randomly generated graph looks like.

What I was surprised is that randomly generated candlechart WILL have all these psychological patterns that Nison and other candlestick experts talk about.... One of my graphs looked almost exactly as Daily chart of euro for the late 2004-early2005 period....

Something to think about....

I've ploted sma on randomly generated charts and lets just say that they have behaved like in trading (lots of profit in trends, whipsaws in flat).

Does anyone have a program that can input OHLC data from excell and put it into a charting program (so that you could attach indicators and back test it) ?

Furthermore I've done extensive research into indicator effectiveness... lets just say that indicators by themselves have blew it.... big time...
