Gulfwar 1991

Geucy,

I looked up "Desert-Storm.com," that gave me a chronology time frame from July 17, 1990 when Husssein accued Kuwait of oil overproduction and the theft of oil, to when the U.S. troops returned home. Also, it includes the date Jan.17, the air war started. I then looked at "fxcm.com/FinanceChart.htm," the same time frame as July 1990 to March 8, 1991. What I observed is the "USD/JPY" and the "USD/CHF" went a down trend, after the war ended both reverse and went on a uptrend. The "EUR/USD" and the GBP/USD" went on a uptrend, after the war they both reversed and went on a downtrend. I have been advised, don't count on it repeating.

a lot of the dollar bullishness post Gulf War1991 could be attributed to the rally in the stock indices and the demand therefore the demand in dollars.
Lest we forget that we were in a bull market at the time, the scenario is much different this time....
