Don't know about free books, but web sources for information on economics are Cafe Hayek and EconLibrary. You can go to George Mason University and poke around, they have one of the best economics programs and a lot of their professors blog.

As for actual Forex books, I've found the basic technical analysis and trading psychology books more useful. The nuts and bolts of how the Forex market works can be found on any number of websites however. Probably here though I haven't checked.

get emule and you can get many forex books.

I was checking out forex books too, but couldn't find one that made it simple. that had all this useless stuff i didn't need / want to know about.

so i got some books on the basics of technical analysis and the basics of trading and now i am doing quite well. Of course these two books were called
1. Technical analysis for dummies
2. Trading for dummies

you can get information on various charts at incrediblecharts.com too.
