Re: help on signal service

I've tried a few with mixed results. Here's a site with a lot of FX and other ones : http://www.collective2.com/cgi-perl/...todisplay=home.

IMO !! :

I've found that some the ones there are not that bad. (For educational purposes). I wouldn't trade any real money with a signal service !! I have before and will never do again !!

Besides that issue, they can be useful I think on demo only. They can give a newbie trader a way to learn the day in and day out habits of opening, holding, and closing positions. Like "going through the motions". Maybe 6 months doing this religiously may be good just to start out by learning the basic habits, and processes of trading.

But, also too, they teach NOTHING about analysis skills which are crucial to success. They teach NOTHING about system development. A lot of them completely ignore money management skills which are absolutely imparative for success in any type of trading.

Here's why I wouldn't trade them with real money :

Be aware though, there's HUGE differrence (psychologically) between demo (monopoly money) and your own hard-earned $$ from your paychecks !!

Be careful though, a lot of them make their money purely from subscriptions and don't even trade the markets at all - even with their own signals !! They are in the marketing NOT the trading business !

And, a lot of them are purely computer generated based on somebody's questionable programming skills and trading abilities. Ya know ? A lot of the results they show are always skewed and hypothetical - and some purely fake !!

Some of the signals I have seen were obviously generated by computer. The sinal provider didn't even bother to manually check the signal to see if it was an OK one, or an idiotic one that is sure to be a loss ! I know this because I've seen signals generated near key support and resistance & fibo levels, etc ... And ones generated against a major trend etc...

No trader worth a grain of salt would have entered positions when some of those signals were generated !! Some of the signals I've received, made me question their integrity. I said to myself "Are they out of their frickin' minds ?!! They want me to open a buy when the market is clearly in a downtrend. This is trading suicide !!" I found myself ignoring alot of the signals I received which defeated the purpose of paying them for their analysis in the first place ! I cancelled the last one I had six months ago and have never looked back.

Signals from some of these signal providers are PURE GARBAGE !! Some of them are no better than picking trades by "dart throwing monkeys" !

Be EXTREMELY careful with signal sevices !! IMO, Find ones with at least a full year of real actual (not just back-tested !) traded results with real money (if possible). (This will be HARD to find !!) And, you also generally get what you pay for with signal providers too !!
