Question Commodity Options & Bond Trading??

Hello everyone

I'm currently trading forex but I would also like to venture into the commodities options bond markets.

- Does anyone trade these markets as well as the forex?
- If yes are you as profitable in the other markets as you are in forex?
- What are some advantages/disadvantages of trading these markets?
- Is it worth trading these other markets?

I don't know who the main brokers are in the commodities options bond markets. Can somebody tell me who the top online brokers are for each of these markets?

I would like to start trading these other markets but as you can see I don’t know where to begin.

Thank you

Re: Commodity Options & Bond Trading??

I trade a bit of everything so I'll give your query a crack.

Profitabily across the markets can be comparable especially given similar leverage scenarios. I just depends on your trading methods. You may personally find that one or another proves better given your particular style. I wound't dare to state with any conviction that commodities are better than forex or that forex is better than options.

On the disadvantage side it is impossible for one to really match the liquidy market access of spot forex. Any kind of exchange traded vehicle is going to have some limitations in terms of timeframes position size flexibility the fact that the volume just doesn't match up.

That said there can be some major advantages to playing other markets. Options can allow you to make very specific very define bets. Bonds are much more sensitive to economic data (especially short-term) than forex which might be a good scenario for one focusing on the fundamentals.

The fact of the matter is that each market has its own particular issues advantages. You have just find something that fits you.

As for brokers I have used Lind Waldock (Refco) to trade futures for years with absolutely no gripe.
