may be a stupid question...

but as said, the damnest question is the question that's never asked...

What is paper trading?

I always read that to be successful, one needs to paper trade and demo trade first.... i get the demo trading, but not the paper trade... i was thinking it may be more of manual that instead of doing it online, just fill up a paper and call and trade? really, that's what's my thoughts are... but i feel and know that they are wrong... so... what is paper trading?

TIA!

Paper trading and demo trading are the same. Paper trading comes from the old Scholl (before online internet access) traders the firms would have a paper trading platform set up for traders to teast and run strategies on, they where never available to average Joes. Trading tools and access to the markets have since grown to where anyone can take out a demo/paper account to test..
