Re: non farm payroll

I think I have read somewhere that others were hvaing this same problems with the broker. I dont think its a coincidence that you were having problems during that time.

Re: non farm payroll

Hallo Aussie,

I have had exactly the same problem with them and have written about it on somebody else's thread called "FXCM cheated again". It took me two hours to get back in to the dealstation after NFP release at 8.30am EST.

During this time they cost me more than 100pips in lost profit ( open positions that could have been closed profitably).

Nonfarm payroll

I've been monitoring this first Friday of the month setup at 8:30am EST. I've only seen 3 months now and all three looked easy to trade. Does this trade move like this every time? It looks too easy with just placing a buy and sell limit above and below the breakout points. Does it make an occasional "head fake" and take out your stop ? I also noticed how well the GBP moved at the Fed announcement. Again it appeared to be an easy trade to make. What other regular events cause such a strong trending move on the currencies?

Its true, its easy on demo, its easy on screen backtesting, but real it will kill you soon. ie. my broker - so far good a reliable FXDD, triggered my 2805 few seconds before NFP news, but they gave me price 2851 Still solving with them...

Re: non farm payroll

Last year I was using F X C M as a broker. I can remember the frustrations of watching major amounts of pips slip away during NFP without being able to access account or open & close positions or do anything, it was utterly ridiculuos and frustrating. This happened every NFP and every other major announcement - not always but most of the time.

I gave up on them and switched to O A N D A which has been very good and in my opinion way more reliable and without hardly any problems - even during the announcements. I use F X C M for some of the news plug ins only.

MT4 is awesome for charting though.
