It depends on how the expert was programmed.

Metatrader 4 can reference multiple timeframes from a single timeframe, though the expert has to be coded in a specific way to allow this.

There is a Yahoo group (Metatrader_Experts_and_Indicators) where a lot of MT4 coders hang out - it may be worth joining the group and asking your question there - though be warned it's a bit "techy".
