Beware of analysis paralysis.
It sounds like what you want to try is to re-invert the wheel.
Be sure to do the bulk of the exploration with the amount of money that you will put to live trading. This limits the possibilities somewhat because most demo programmes are limited to fixed amounts of money like 10K or 50K.
Most beginners don't lose because of the parameters of their technical analysis systems but because of much deeper lying factors that can't be detected by testing testing testing.
Unless you already know what you are doing most of your time on such project will be wasted.
