| Prop Trading From Home I'd like to hear from all of those that trade from home. I assume most are trading retail accounts? Has anyone considered trading remotely with a prop firm? It seems to me that there are more successful remote prop traders than conventional retail traders. Perhaps that only because I know more prop traders. I'd love to hear what you all think... | Re: Prop Trading From Home Hi Proptrade, I've been trading from home for a fund for several years. I've never worked for a prop firm and don't know anyone that does. I've found no shortage of investors therefore I've never had any need to look into trading for a prop firm. Perhaps you could tell us what advantages you've found working for a prop firm? |

| Re: Prop Trading From Home It sounds like joining a prop firm wouldn't benefit your current situation. Looks like you have a good thing going. Most beginner traders don't have the experience to attract investors. The main advantage of working for a prop trading are as follows:

| Re: Prop Trading From Home So prop firms would actually take on newbie traders? I would've thought prop firms would only be interested in those with a proven track record or perhaps someone who is highly qualified? |

| Re: Prop Trading From Home I've been looking in to working for a prop firm but have a few questions which I am hoping someone can help with: 1) What is the training programme like? 2) I'm based in the UK (London). Any particular firms I should look at? 3) What is the general experience of working for a prop firm? 4) Is this a good idea? (Maybe not an easy one to answer) Thanks SR2 |

| Re: Prop Trading From Home There are other terms used to describe the same thing but its a firm which does any or all of the following: 1) Provide training for trading a particular market/instrument (for a cost) 2) If profitable after a certain period provide funds to trade with a profit split HTH |

| Why does they call it as prop firm? |

| Lhar Prop Trading is Proprietary Trading.. what this topic is essentually about, is learning how to trade or knowing how to trade and then begin 'teaching others' how to trade for a 'fee'. This setup permits aquired liquid (the fees gained) to be used as a 'fund'. The next step is normally to get folk to 'invest' in this fund they started and they manage it, too. This is normally done from a home office. It is a business. There are some variations to the theme but that is the jest of it.
