soultrader: Questions?

I, being a newbie am trying to navigate the simple but complex world of the forex. I want to get off on the right foot and learn from others such as yourself. This forum has been great and your posts have helped make it a success but I would like to know that if I decide to purchase your Hilda Baker coarse for $2247 pounds, as a mentor, what are your expectations of your students from a financial point of view when they are through with the coarse? Knowing there is not Holy Grial, what do you think sets your program apart from other training or trading systems available i.e. Bain etc. (Others that have taken or are using this coarse please chime in! We would love to hear from everyone!!!)

Re: soultrader: Questions?

Im sorry Throw - but i dont recommend that any newbie buys my, or anyone elses system.

You should spend the next 12 months learning the basics of traing - the 'trading 101' kind of thing.

learn how to spot a trend and how to trade when there isnt one, learn about dow theory, learn about fibs and pivots - soak up info like a sponge and more than anything concentrate on the psychological aspects of trading from books like trading in the zone by Mark Douglas (a must read)

learn what your emotional content is in a trade, learn how to lose money professionally before you learn how to make it.

in 12 - 24 months come back to this thread and tell me how youve got on. Then and only then ill talk to you about how i can help.

There's lots you can learn without any mentoring from me or anyone else, books and trading information is free all over the net also despite what you may believe there is no fast-track route to success.

Also remember the golden rule - if you are in a chat room with 100 people extolling the virtues of trading - 95 of them lose more money than they make, mainly because they think there is a fast track and that they have the golden ticket to the chocolate factory. Dont make the same mistaes they do.

Sorry i cant help any more at this point. and just to point out that if anyone turns this into a q&a session on hilda that i cant answer due to the rules of the forum regarding advertising.

good luck on your journey.

Re: soultrader: Questions?

That was great advice. Thank you, I appreciated your honesty. I have been studying for the past year+, read numerous books, attending various seminars and have been doing some live trades testing out various strategies and comfort levels but still consider myself a newbie. I have been just following my gut but I feel I need to find a couple methods/systems to blend in what I am currently doing (which is basically trend trading). I will take your advice, keep learning, keep trading and when I am ready to go to the next level I will contact you. Thanks again.
