If 90% are loosing their money, who are they loosing it to? The 10% winners! All you have to do is make sure you are one of the 10%. (disclaimer: this may be more difficult than it appears)

Another thing to consider is that the classic bell curve is going to fit in any endeavor be it trading, sports, sales, grades, whatever. Plus, on a global scale, 10% is a lot of people.

Here is the 1%. I consistantly make money off fx market. I guess TA really works for me. My advise to all new traders:

1. being patient,
2. Use TA only
3. proper money mgmt.

What are your favorite indicators. I'm new to forex and have demo-ing mainly using ADX, Boll Bands, RIS, (2) EMA's, Par/Sar and support and resisitance lines with inconsistent results. I am also looking into a hedging strategy using EUR/USD versus USD/CHF.

I only use MA exp cross(5, 20), and ADX. I think you are using too many indicators, it will be confusing sometimes. Indicators only works in a trending market. If you know how to draw trendline, and know how to recognize false break; it will boost your indicators's performance.

Sincerely
Sandy.

Thanks for your input. I probably am using too many indicators. I have heard it said it's better to keep it simple.
Glad to hear you're doing well.

Thanks again

Question

Sandymochida Hi,

Please explain how you recognize a false break from a real one?
This knowledge would be a big help to a lot of us!

Thanks in advance,

A poor Bear.

p.s. IMHO most small traders lose their money to their brokers.

Exclamation to sandymochida

Hi, you've made some good points
Quote:
1. being patient,
2. Use TA only
3. proper money mgmt.
Myself would put the MoneyManagement on the first place. It is the question one should ask before make first real money deal.
Being patient will be my second.
And I cannot agree with use TA only.

- There are some very good strategies to trade on fundamentals.
- Some of novices like to pay moeny for signals (or strategies, or "black boxes") and then just follow them.
What do you think ?

Quote:
Indicators only works in a trending market
This is not correct
There are some TA indicators designed to work well in ranging markets (sideways, horizontal trend). They are called oscillators.

Quote:
using too many indicators, it will be confusing
This is good, I agree completely.

Take care and have fun
