Cool Tip: Choose a platform before choosing a broker.

FWIW, my tip to newbies:-

It is important to be able to change brokers as required and not be encumbered by having to learn a new platform. If you initially choose a broker with a particular proprietory trading platform you may become so familiar and comfortable with it that you become psychologically tied to this broker to your financial detriment.

It is enough of a ordeal to change brokers. Compounding the problem by having to adapt to a new platform just makes things worse.

I would agree, but also I think it is good to learn a few of the different platforms just in case. I've done this just to help others with the platform if they need help, then I can relate to what they are talking about.
