Re: "Trading with Dinapoli levels"?

FXsniper, I have been aware of the Gartely, Butterfly, Crab patterns etc. for quite a while now, but I always found it rather time consuming to scan the charts for these patterns, although I am sure that after a while of practice it will get easier.
Anyway, have you heard of the H a r m o n i c t r a d e r . com website and Harmonic analyser software? I wonder if this software would be make spotting these patterns a breeze? What is your take, since you seem to be one of the traders here who is very knowledgeable when it comes to those patterns.

Hello FX. I've been reading this thread and the book you've mentioned. Interesting stuffs. I have one quick question for now(more later): How do you use the Fib Expansion? Thanks

Re: "Trading with Dinapoli levels"?

Hello Tekunda,

You have touched an important point yes. In the beginning I gave up on these patterns quite a few times to be honest for this very reason.

As you also correctly state, it does become a LOT easier after practice. I did however also look for a software solution to this problem and found the ENSIGN software package had a Pesevento "tool" that did the job with absolute amazing results. The only trouble is the data feed, so I only demo'd it for a while.

This other place you have mentioned, it does sound familliar, but I am gonna check it out again just to be sure and get back to you ASAP.

Cheers

FX Sniper,

I downloaded Gartley Patten Tutorial from longorshort.com but there is one thing I don't understand. In that tutorial the 1.272 and 1.618 target are calculated by leg BC. On your chart, I see you use leg AB to calculate the possible low range. Is there any difference?

Appreciate your reply.

is this a gartley?

hi sniper,
just another shot of a fib sequence on the euraud 4h i'm interested if you would classify as a gartley. it meets the AB=CD condition (thanks to your hint on how to customize the fib-expansion tool ) and D is 50fib of AX, but C is at no significant fib level. on his way down price met all targets and dived also exactly in the 127 pool.
(perhaps to mention here that there is a significant congestion around D which would have made it difficult to enter at a reasonable point).

Re: "Trading with Dinapoli levels"?

Good Day Annie,

Thank you for your question, could I ask you to please post a sample chart indicating the difference in calculations that you have found. I have an idea of what you are referring to, but would like to confirm this first before a blast away with a explanation

As Q827 already said, welcome on board
