Well now, MorningTrader, that's just silly. Does it occur to
you I might be trying to help you?
No one is mocking EMAs.
But if you're touting an EMA crossover system, acting like
EMAs are something amazing and wonderful, using 10% of your
capital per trade, with 13-pip stops, trying for just a few pips
per trade, then you have revealed yourself as a newbie trader
who has just recently discovered the adrenaline rush of
the forex market.
If you're going to use a crossover system, why do you
use an EMA crossover and not a MACD crossover? Do you
understand the difference -- how the MACD w/ signal is composed
of the raw delta and EMA-smoothed delta of two base EMAs,
and why that gives an earlier signal?
Not that there's anything terribly wrong with your entry trigger.
It's vanilla, like the kind many traders use. The overly
tight stop and tiny profit target need overhauling. Overuse
of trading capital is also going to get you into trouble. A couple
of tweaks to your risk:reward model and exit tactics, and you're
all set. Then it becomes a matter of self-control and consistency,
and then long-term profitability becomes a matter of boring
routine.
Dropping Rob Booker's name doesn't impress anybody.
He's made himself mighty scarce on this web site, if you've
noticed. He has an "e-book". So what? The threads under
his forum have nothing of interest or substance.
You want to ignore what's being said here, go right ahead.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
If you're young, you probably have to learn from your own
mistakes.
Good luck.

Am on nobodys side here would just like to say thanks to morningtrader for sharing his strategy whether it be good or bad because there are many people that like to see what other peoples strategies and styles of trading are.
I think it is interesting to see all the ideas good and bad so that you can pick bits out of them and 'play' with them. So to anyone thinking of posting ideas and what have you dont be put off by peoples opinions because thats all it is and sometimes it helps to have other peoples thoughts.

Your icon makes me laugh every time I see it for some reason.
I think that on the Beginner's Forum people need to feel
comfortable sharing their ideas.
MorningTrader, keep at it. I'm sure you feel attacked and
maybe a little discouraged, but hang in there and keep
refining your strategy. If the hecklers distract you, put them/us
on ignore and keep on sharing your discoveries.

Just to put the record straight....
I've nothing against anyone sharing ideas and strategies, I think it's a great idea and exactly what these forums are supposed to be about, it's often very helpful to talk through something and get different opinions. What I do object to however are signal sellers who don't know one end of a chart from the other and then manufacture impressive results to lure the gullible, and novice traders playing 'guru' but offering blatantly bad advice. No experienced trader would ever advise another trader (let alone a novice) to risk 10% of their equity on a single trade, that's a fact!
Novice traders are renown for clutching at straws, all it needs is for one to think it's ok to risk 10% on a most basic unfiltered EMA cross strategy and before you know it they'll be broke. Is that what we're about is it, leading people astray and helping them to lose money?
I've done my bit....

Mick,
I re-read this thread, and unless I missed something,
MorningTrader isn't offering a service.
And he posted on the Beginner's Forum. So I think
he got flamed unfairly (partly by me).

I've heard it said that a good trader can make money flipping a coin ( I believe Ive read a thread on this) But IMHO if it was as easy as trading an EMA cross, everyone would be doing it.
The best Ema trader in these forums, IMHO, is BunnyGirl and if your read her thread you will see an element of discretionary judgement to her trades.
As I say this, Morning Trader, if your making money trading ema crosses..... your bank account is your reward and your ahead of the game..... Trading is a solitary business.
But Everyone should study and demo any kind of service, siginals, advice or trading strategy before laying down real cash. No one else to blame but ourselves.......
Good trading everyone, Just a poor Bears thoughts

If you re-read my last post Bob you will see I'm not suggesting this guy is offering a service, he's playing guru and advising others on trading startegies and money management. If you think that's ok, bearing in mind the quality of the advice he's offered so far, then what more can I say!
