i currently use esignal and for an extra fee they give me feeds on currencies. well this is nice and all but i still have the feeling like i just stuck a trailer hitch on my corvette. sure i can pull a boat but its just not designed for it. like i can get quotes against the greenback but when i try to get a quote for a cross i must be doing something wrong (even though i follow thier instructions to the letter) then theres the fact that i have never "liked" esignal in that i cant just "draw all over the charts" and tuck it away with out this huge hassel. (i guess cause i decided it sucked before i tried how to use it properly) what i want is something that might not be the fastest but has more tools and toys than i know what to do with. like an auto fibbi , or donny channels stuff like that

I know what you mean about using E Signal for forex. Its a good package but not really designed for trading forex. Probably the most popular package designed specifically for forex that is in the price range of E signal is webtrader by Infotec. The package runs about $200 a month, website www.infotecnet.com and they will give you a demo for $10. There is also a brand new package out by Trade Trek. They started a new company called FX Trek to promote their Forex package. I like this one a lot and it is half the price of other options out there at $100 a month. Website= www.fxtrek.com and they will give you a free demo. There are also 3 free packages that are not on the level of the pay options mentioned above but are real time and still pretty good located here: Charts

Hi, The best data feed for forex (charting) is tradermade. All the others are way behind except if you are in a trading room and have access to EBS.
| ||||
Forex Feed I have been using Realtick by Townsend Analytic and am not satisfied - too many interuptions of service. It cost $240 a month. I've heard CQG is good but expensive. Anyone have experience with others feeds that provide full charting services? Regards, Paul
| ||||
CQG is good, I used it for the last 4 years. The cost is around now 545 USD/month for the basics plus the fee for the currency flow. U will be slightly above 600 usd. tradermade is a bit better in terms of prices and i think they have a web access version which is cheaper. Let me check and I will come back to you.

Data Feeds Greetings, I have used several data feeds. The Infotecnet feed is cheap but it runs on poorly writen software that crashes often. This will cost you about less than $200/Month. Easy to use software with limited studies that you can write. The Bridge and ComStock feeds can run through Aspen Graphics but will cost you $500 per month..Ouch! This is harder to use but has great support and plenty of studies that they can write for you. I use the cheap one due to finances. Latter,

Charting Charting packages are always a challenge and always evolving. Try www.fxfirst.com where you will find DealSmart charts that are about $80 per month and are just as good or better than most. One can label Ew patterns and customize all tools to suit.

I use Tradestation 2000i with datafeed from ESignal (ESignal seems popular here!) and have no complaints with the quality of their data. If you want to see quotes on crosses using Esignal charts then you have to key in the correct symbols. For GBP/USD the symbol is GBP A0-FX (That's an A, zero not A, O). for EUR/USD it's EUR A0-FX, for crosses not against the dollar you need both currencies : e.g. EURJPY A0-FX. By the way the A0 represents the Spot rates while A1, A2 etc are forward rates. Hope this helps.

FX data feed Hi FX traders have inhouse data feeds from electronic broking services EBS and Reuters which shows the professional market pricing. They also use charting / analytics products to study those markets and the most well regarded product is Tradermade owing to it's data quality. The problem using other vendors - they all get their data from similar sources - but they do not clean it and correct bad data.

Aepounds Surely all us lunch bucket retails traders (and even more meaningful accounts of over a mio or so) would be happy to use EBS. So, how do we get a user pass to log in? If you mean that your large bank employer has the feed, what is the relevance to we lunch bucket retailers?

CABLE As I understand it, TradeStation 2000i has been obsoleted by their new platform that they give away for free when one trades with them; but the new platform does ot offer fx spot. Moreover, 2000i is not available to any customer in the United States by policy of TradeStation.

2000i by Omega You can still obtain the Omega 2000i suite of products from people who are upgrading to the new platform. Many of them sell their old versions on ebay. Make sure you update to the 822 revision. I was able to find the updates using filesearching.com. Also, I just started using the eSignal with the forex add on for about $150USD/month. It is a good platform so far...

JPYGBP/RE:Omega 2000i/EBAY purchase/features/addons In re above Omega/EBay . An idea worthy of thought. One of the benefits of 2000i is the add-ons that one buys. Will these add-ons work on another computer when you buy the Omega with add-ons from a sellor, or do the add-0ns keep track of IP addresses and make the add-ons worthless? Can you help with the answer to this?
