Lowest spread for EUR/USD

Hi there,

What broker offers the lowest spread for EUR/USD. I know offers 1.5 pip spread but I´m pretty sure I read somewhere that there was a broker , IB I think that offered 1 pip spread. Whta broker is IB and are there others hat offer lower or equally low spread.

Could IB be "Inter_bank_FX"? Anyway their spread is 2. The lowest i know is 1.5

IB stands for Interactive Brokers. They offer a wide range of products (stocks, futures, bonds, options, forex). They don't have a fixed spread, but the spread in EURUSD is mostly 1-2 pips + commissions !!!

The spread although important to the costs of trading is not the most important requirement for successful trading. Do you have a sound and well tested methodology? Do you have good MM and a trading plan? Some people cannot make money even if there was no spread at all. I am still learning and nowhere near proficient but i feel you guys are placing too much emphasis on the spread. It is important that you have a broker that give a good trding platform, phone backups, fixed(not necessarily the smallest) spreads, fast fills, stable and trustworthy(unlike refco) etc. This is not to say that 1pip spreads are not important but lets not overlook the "cake and gun for the candle on it"

No i don´t think that it´s too important to have 1 pip instead of 3, but, let´s imagine a trade with 10 dolars a pip, 2 pips are 20 dolars, i think it could buy you lunch and dinner for one day, can´t it?

Obviously there are things more important for the trader then 1 or 2 pips diference, but in similar conditions, i will always prefer 1 pip spread over 3 (and i´m saying this for similar conditions between 2 companys except for the spread).

I asked this ´cause I´m developing a scalping strategy, and there is a huge difference between i pip and 2 pip spread. Lets say a month I make 300 trades. So that would mean 300 pip difference which would really effect the results

For a scalp trader, yes, the spread is pretty damn important. But so the reliability of the platform. Does it give you a WYSIWYG quote, or does it requotes after you press buy/sell?

There is always a lot to look at a company and not only the spread, i believe this is the most important message.
