What's Your Greatest Trading Challenge ?

What's Your Greatest Trading Challenge ?

I would like to start his first post by asking a question that I hope will benefit many people reading this.
What is your greatest trading challenge.?

To everyone reading this it can bring many different thoughts to mind.
But I think that if we can all share what challenges us most
We can all learn a great deal each other .
If you will post your number one challenge I will do my best to answer at the same time everyone else reading this can learn as well .

Re: What's Your Greatest Trading Challenge ?

My biggest trading challenge when I first started trading was developing faith in myself my trading system. I had to stop staring at my trading platform focus on what price was doing in the charts. I learned to give my trades time to work out.

I trade off a 30 min chart so I learned to walk away while that 30 min cle was open. If I sat stared at it my emotions would get the best of me I would either close to early or to late give back profits. I only analyze closed cles. This helped the most in developing a successful trading system.

Another part of my trading method involves finding using realistic profit targets scaling out. I close part of my trade at the first profit level set the remaining lots at break even that way I dont give anything back.

My trades usually net approx. 20 to 30 pips on the first profit target 40 to 50 pips on the final target but every trade is different many trades net more than that.

Today in my chat room I traded the USD/JPY my total net was 180 pips. This was done by many other members in my chat room using the same scaling out method.

I have videos explaining these methods. If you would like to see one please message me I can send you the link to your email address.

Thank you for reading my post

Re: What's Your Greatest Trading Challenge ?

sounds interesting in essence there are so many personal issue each individual trader is up against that no two traders have the same issues obstacles to overcome. eventually we must all face our trading demons to progress

mine was always the resolve to stick to my initial ideas as over time time time again my view had always proved to be correct I can pick excellent trading levels for entry exits but was always shaken out of the market far too early. either that or i would forget my initial plan convince myself something else was happening i should be trading that i suppose the markets their fractal nature are the culprits of this. it wasnt until my initial targets where getting hit instead of holding for the profit which did eventually materialise i would have made many other trades in the time being resulting in loses this was making me sick how i could sabotage myself.

I trade on a longer time frame so i dont get tossed around by few traders or whoevers pushing the price around 4hr charts it now takes big money intent to move the market far enough for me to say I was wrong. I accumulate my line slowly now over time average trade duration is about 6 weeks swinging some huge lines in some cases fully vested extracting a modest 50 pips on my average entry price.

this seems to work well for me

usd/jpy had a HUGE day today a 475 pip range what are the odds on that???
