Re: Yet another newbie system!

Forgot one thing. I recommend that people follow the new YANS, at least until I can go through all the charts for the original YANS.

Thumbs up YANS Trading Journal

Amazing results with your simple system SR2! Thanks for your great work.

I would like to recommend that it will be really helpful if you open a thread called "YANS Trading Journal" so that all newbies and others can follow each trade posted by you just to make sure they are on the right track. With 12 currencies, I think there will be at least a couple of trades everyday.

Also, for people who know how to code in MetaTrader, have you tried building an autotrader for this system?

That would indeed be great, if it's possible. But these things always turn out to be a lot more time-consuming than you expect!

I think more like a couple of trades every week.

Re: Yet another newbie system!

Looks like it should average out at about 5-6 trades per month, it's a nice system as it is targetting continuations after a solid move.

All we need now is a additional simple system that can target the beginning of the move and we can be in business.

I have an idea I am working on and if it pans out I will post it here if sr2 agrees.

Hi Tim

You are closer to the mark than amin. It is more like to be 2 trades a week. Last year there would only have been just over 60.

Yep I will open a new thread as soon as I get another trade.

Have you had a chance to look at my PM?

Take care
A

That sounds good. Please post anything you feel may help. The more information we share the closer we get to a solid system.

Re: NEW YANS!!!!

****** NEW YANS ******

Hello again

Sorry for shouting. Just wanted to make sure no one missed it this time

=================
The system has the same SL and TP rules as YANS i.e. 100pips. I know some people have other ideas for TP and SL. I would recommend you experiment and see how it pans out.

Settings recap: 4 hour charts with 10ema and 40ema crossover with Parabolic SAR (0.02, 0.2).

Now look at the chart posted below for the entry signal (sorry about the colours. Wanted to keep the size small for fast loading.) Please note that this is for a buy signal. The opposite is true for a sell signal.

So to recap and add a bit more detail:
1) Fast MA Crosses SlowMA - possible trade coming up
2) PARSAR crosses slowMA - another indicator that a trade may appear
3) PARSAR flips from below to above (or vice versa)
4) PARSAR stays flipped for 6 periods or less and then flips back
5) Buy at open when PARSAR flips back if PARSAR is below SlowMA +15 (opposite for sell) - i know it says 10 on the JPEG (please ignore that)
6) Take you 100 pips and sleep with a smile on your face

I can honestly say that not much experimentation has gone into this as I like to keep things nice and simple otherwise my brain hurts. These figures just appealed to me - its a miracle I tell you . So please play around with the figures you may find something better. I will be playing with the figures now that I have a bit more time.

Please let me know if the above is not clear.
