Question Your 3 best books

What are the 3 best books that you have read why have they contibuted so much to your trading??

I'd like to start this discussion of with my three:

a) Trading in the Zone Douglas M. (2001).

This book follows on what was my favourite by Mark Douglas The Disciplined Trader. Trading in the Zone is so important to my trading that a) I keep it by my bed for easy access to the various chapters I keep delving into b) I read excerps Chap 7 each day before I begin trading to remind me of my trading goals.

Trading in the Zone is the best book I have seen on trading psychology shows why this subject explains 70%+ of our trading performance.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books

b) The Market Wizards (2 books) Schwager J. (1994)

Here are professional traders interviewed by Jack Schawager in a consitent intelligent manner. You'll find a trader like you somewhere in these two excellent books.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...roduct-details

c) Systems Trading Kaufmann P. (1998)

Perry Kaufmann has here the most comprehensive coverage of developing a working trading system - all the simulation approaches backtesting statistical performance measures etc. Marvelous I constantly refer to it.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...roduct-details

Well the challenge is out.

What are your 3 favourite trading books???

Bill..

a.) Trading in the Global Currency Markets by Cornelius Luca - this is a great reference book for all forex traders. History of Forex mechanics some technical analysis. No trading methods are presented here.

b.) Zen in the Markets by Edward Allen Toppel - This book helps the reader underst the role of the ego in trading how to overcome it. No trading methods are presented here.

c.) All other books on trading useful or not. Helps to exp my own knowledge about trading. who knows you may even pick up a tidbit or 2. Example The Master Swing Trader by Alan Farley I identified a problem I had but did not know what it was. Until I read about trend relativity errors in this book did I realize that I was commingling my trades into many different time frames.

Best trading book

Like a lot of FX traders I have come an equity trading background.

However the principles of trading apply across the range of markets.

The best book I have read on trading in my opinion was one which I came across in my days as an equity trader. It is Tony Oz "Stock Trading Wizard".

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0967386209/qid=1053103687/sr=1-5/ref=sr_1_5/103-4577256-6883005?v=glance&s=books

It is so simple to read.

Tony Oz goes through his interpretation application of TA. I always reread this section every time I hit a losing streak it usually gets me back on track by focusing on whats important whats not. Its definately very applicable to the FX market.

The last section on trading NASDAQ stocks won't be relevant at all however.

I can thoroughly recommend this book to beginners to seasoned traders who are stuck in a rut.

Layan

Your selection is excellent. Its always hard recommending books because each of us has their own personal style. So my perspective I'd recommend the following your list:

1. Trading in The zone By Mark Douglas
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books

2. Come into My trading Room by Alex Elder
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books

3. Trade for Living by Alex Elder + Study Guide
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books

4. John Murphy Books ( technical analysis of the financial Markets )
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...194205-1310361

5. Master Swing trader by Alan Farley
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books

7. Japanese Clestick by Steve Nison
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books

8. Trade your way to financial freedom by van Tharp
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books

Yes I agree Luca book = Murphy Murphy is the better well established reference text on TA.
