Question How can I make the link to the particular post in a thread

Nice Forum and nice software, thanks

While discussing various matters on Forum, the same subject occurs again. To "recycle" the content from previous threads one need the possibility to make links to particular posts inside them.

I understand that every post has the unique number and correcposning HTML code with anchor name inside. But I can not make the link to this anchor #xxxx, it looks like php does not pass it through.

Please help

Exclamation shellback

Yes, this kind of links help to find the thread. However they position the top of window not on the particular post, but just on the top of the page of this thread. So, it does not solve my problem.
I believe it is because php generates dynamic pages and browser can not render properly the anchor on it.

I use broadband connection and have the settings for 40 posts per page. And it is difficult to browse these 40 posts manually to find the particular one.

Thanks anyhow. Did you find the post number by viewing the source or is there some direct shortcut ?

Cheers

I don't know how many posts per page I have. If there is a setting for it, then it must be the default. The links I posted worked fine for me - the linked post was positioned at the top of my browser window.

I just got the links off the user profiles. Each profile lists the most recent 15 posts of that user. If you need an older link, I guess you can search posts from that user.

It didn't work. It opened a new window and positioned the beginning of the thread at the top. However, if you replace the ending \ with #post20080 then it will position your post at the top.
