What are the best books for Forex trading ?

I know there is only a handfull of good books for the Forex in the vast ocean of the trading literature so I am not insisting on excluding the books written with a stock trader in mind. Please list your favourites... Mine are :

A.Elder.Trading for a Living
A.Farley.The Master Swing Trader
J.Bollinger.Bollinger on Bollinger Bands
M.Douglas.Disciplined Trader
M.Douglas.Trading in the Zone
R.Balan.Elliott Wave Principle Applied to The Foreign Exchange Markets
R.Fisher.Fibonacci Applications and Strategies for Traders
S.Nison.Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques

Thank you!

Re: What are the best books for Forex trading ?

Anything on jesse livermore
market wizards, old and new
when genius failed
mostly non-trading technique specific books

i tend to stay away from most others, same info diff spin, mostly after the fact trading. As in chart patterns etc.

Thats me personally

if you like structure or #'s go with elliot wave books or fibo's.

Re: What are the best books for Forex trading ?

Hi, from time to time this kind of thread shows up. This time no list, just a tip for those that have found out that in forex using pure TA techniques is extremely limited, and want to go ahead:

The Psychology of Foreign Exchange Market - Thomas Oberlechner
Wiley Trading

Idaniani

I agree with you about pure TA, which I have interpreted as the use of multiple indicators. To me the greatest journey in forex is the one that takes you on the road to learn more about yourself and how you react under live trading circumstances. Psychology is the most underestimated facet of trading.

In forex trading I like to keep things simple. Learn to value the lines, such as support/resistance and trendlines.

A lot of people use candlestick charts, so maybe you can purchase a book such as Steve Nison's book on Candlestick Charting. I know people who trade the markets live by using candlesticks only with no ther indicators.I was impressed.

So, in terms of books.....psychology +++.

My two would be "Trading in the Zone" by Mark Douglas and
"Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques" by Steve Nison. However don't think by purchasing/reading these two books that it gives you immediate forex profits. It also takes a lot of perserverance.

I think there is one other book which deserves to be among the ones listed above: Bird Watching In Lion Country, by Dirk du Toit.
