Am looking for a simple strategy to trade the Dow Jones

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a simple system strategy for trading the DJ. I have used candle stick analysis, which is good, but am looking for a more mechanical system. For example, MA 'combo' crossovers or trading using FIBS Having searched the internet, as yet, I have had no luck in finding such a system (for free).

Any suggestions appreciated,

Regards,

Dave

Try BF tacktics. Look at a day when the next day activity is within the previous days activety, constrictiction of belief and new belief about a level for the market is formed, allow the market to explore beyond the boundaries of the belief then catch the break of the belief and movement to the next belief about a level for the market. Read "Against the Gods" Bernstein, and regression to the mean.

I actually trade this method all the time and very successfully but using software to help me identify the zone of belief. This is of course very expensive but you get what you pay for. But you can make money with this concept for free but you need to be pretty savy, I'm getting too old for all the effort it takes and besides the cost of the software I use is now peanuts compared with the benefits it provides is being more scientific in identifying this zone of belief.

Oh and by the way, it will work on any market, since it is based on human behaviour and so will never go away either!

Re: Am looking for a simple strategy to trade the Dow Jones

Thanks Homish,

By the sound of it I will need to read the book to get an insight and greater understanding of the concepts of this strategy (where might I find a copy of this book). If I understand correctly (please correct me if I am wrong) you say you use the software for identifying certain levels for identifying 'zones of belief', does the software also identify entry and exit levels? And from your experience of using this strategy, how profitable would you deem it to be (eg. winning trades vs. loosing trades).

Regards,
Dave
