Some other time Doc.

It is no point bragging about something in the past. It is always 20/20 in hindsight, you know. My intention was not to portray myself as a know-it-all guru. I came begging for knowlege from those who are in the know and all I get is people resorting to some sorta ridicule. Did I say something totally foolish? Well if I did, then I am sorry.
But I get the feeling that a lot of MM agents are lurking on these boards. They jump on any suggestion that points to their manipulative nature.
cheers.

Thanks for the insight, Gamma-Jammer.

That was a good piece of information. You see after all these silly questions and all these wise answers and some bitter exchanges something good comes out. That is the pupose of these fora IMHO, sharing of knowledge.

Habib - was your last post aimed at me? If so, please don't take my postings as being aimed to ridicule you. I am merely trying to explain a couple of things about the market that you may not know yet. I hope the description of fix trading helps you understand some of the price action that you see.

If you don't beleive what I'm telling you then that's fair enough. I have no vested interest either way, but as far as I can see one of the main benefits of this forum is the exchanging of KNOWLEDGE. This sort of trading is one thing you really need to know about because it can make a mess of your charts, your gameplan and your whole day sometimes. You said you made money that day and this is of course a good thing, but I'm just saying it may not be for the rason you think.

Good Luck all

GJ

Yes, during yesterday's bull run on Gold I already knew someone was supporting the 1.2375/80 levels.

I had a massive short position in place just before initial claims as chances are, someone out there was trying to screw Eur longs.

They let go at 1.2270/80 levels as they knew lots of big players stop losses are stationed there and it will be supported.

It was a pretty safe high reward play as there wasn't much news to break top 1.2380/1.2400 heavy resistant barrier.

The market is manipulated.

This also happen to be my last play in FX...

Habib,

I didn't think you were trying to be a know it all. I'm genuinely curious as to how people come to convince themselves that they definitely know what they know.

As you're probably aware, virtually all of the information we have is via secondary sources at best. Gamma's explanation of fixing was very enlightening, yet how do we know that actually happened at a given time. We know it does happen (I'm taking Gamma's word on this combined with the fact it makes loads of sense), yet unless we were actually party to the actual bank's actions at the actual moment, our thoughts about why the market moved the way it did is simply a guess.

I have a very good friend here who is also a trader. Most of the time he speaks in absolutes about why something happened in the market when I know, and he also knows, that we don't know. He is engaing in willful delusion, imo. I believe this to be a dangerous trait in general, yet particularly fatal for traders.

You stated with absolute certainty that the market was manipulated at a certain time. I question how you know this and you view it as an attack. I call it personal honesty, you call it criticism.

It's really not personal Habib, just call it a personal and professional curiosity. After many years of encountering people who state with absolute certainty that their knowledge is absolutely certain, I like to question them as to how they have attained this absolute state. It's something I wish I could attain but have failed to do over all these years.

And I wasn't bragging, I was being sarcastic towards your stating of the obvious.

Getting out of sync is very common with all of us posters. So no need to be sorry about that.
I really appreciate your post about fixings.

Thank you for your valuable input, RandalFrost.

But I don't understand why you are giving up on Forex trading.
Best is to get to know their game and play accordingly.
