Question Something happened regarding rollover

I made 2 trades. 1st trade was closed within the day and I brought the 2nd trade over night. 1st trade was fine but not for the 2nd trade. I'm using GFT dealbook by the way. Please enlighten me. I'm very confuse about bring position overnight.

1st Trade

Total Equity: USD 2,609.49

Entry position: 131.69 ( Short position )

Closed position at 1.3157 ( Profit 9 pips )

I traded EUR/USD and profit $18 ( 2 mini lots )

* My new total equity is : USD 2,609.49 + USD 18 = USD 2,627.49

2nd Trade

Total Equity: USD 2,627.49

Entry position: 1.3164 ( Long position ) - 2 mini lots again

*** The price keeps going down after I entered the long position. Before I switch off my PC and go to bed, I've lost about 11 pips. Tomorrow morning when I wake up, this is what happens.

MY ENTRY POSITION FROM 1.3164 BECOMES 1.3158. WHY? Anyway I closed my position at 1.3163 and lose 1 pip. My total equity should be USD 2,627.49 - USD 2 ( The lost of 1 pip ) = USD 2625.49. But why is it USD 2,621.20?
Where the the difference between USD 2,627.49 and USD 2,621.20 go?

Questions

1) Why did the position from 1.3164 can change to 1.3158 if I bring position overnight?

2) Where did the between USD 2,627.49 and USD 2,621.20 go?

Re: Something happened regarding rollover

I know if I bring a position overnight, I will either paid or charge interest. The difference between USD 2,627.49 and USD 2,621.20 is USD 6.29. Bring overnight interest of 2 mini lots position can't possibly be USD 6.29.

The position did not change. Remember, all charts are bid charts. So in your first trade since you were short your entry after spread matched the bid chart price where you wanted to enter the market. In your second trade you were long, so when you placed an order at a bid price of 1.3164, the spread was taken out your real entry was 1.3158. Since you never paid off the spread, you really lost 5 pips. Thats your 6 bucks and change.

Re: Something happened regarding rollover

If you trade a mini position with GFT they will charge you $1 per lot traded as a comission.
A rollover charge of $5 exists for trades open during the rollover period. During this time they will take you out your position and enter you into a new position based on the price at the time, hence the change in your entry price.

This can seem confusing at first, but you get used to it.

SOCRATES

Do you pay interest as well as the $5 on a mini rollover?
I also wasn't aware of the $1 commission in addition to the spread.
It looks like you have to ask the question in order to get all the pertinent info out of these sales reps.
