Identify the primary trend prior to the range wait for price to finish a move within the range against the primary trend. When the price heads back in the direction of the primary trend ride it to the other end of the range. Less reward but fly safe. I would only trade in the direction of the primary trend however (no exceptions).

Same here Jerseydevil. Exception only if we are near to a major support/resistance level I may also trade against the major trend (the bounce).

go to a smaller time frame.
In a rangebound market there are usually trends in the smaller time frames.

one time just fooling around i drew trendlines on the 5 minute chart which came out to be a symmetrical triange. Then I went to the one minute price was at the bottom of the trendline. So I bought price went up. I never made 5 pips so easily quickly before.

I still don't know how to daytrade though. I can trade the longer term time frames but daytrading eludes me.
if anyone has advice send it my way.
