Question Bollinger Bands - Gimme Bars

Using gimmee bars on the BB is a potentially profitable trading strategy.

I have a question please.

I have seen that the 10 minute graph on cable looks promising, is there any research done that could help me to identify the risk/reward.

Thanks very much

This kind of strategy uses tight stops, which are really dangerous in forex (and with GBPUSD is a sure death). I have tested this kind of strategy (BB+gimme short time frame) long ago, with very bad results, i must add. This kind of strategy must be combined with longer term filters.

Thanks very much. Yes cable is quite "unpredictable".

Re: Bollinger Bands - Gimme Bars

i've been trading gimmee bars on eur on 5min charts and find it quite profitable. I set my stops 1 pip based on previous candle.

i don't think gimmee bars will work very well with cable on the 5min charts as cable is beta to the eur. try using a higher time frame and see how it works.

Gimme Bars?
Is that an indicator? Where can I get further info about it? Can anyone write a custom Gimme Bars indicator for MT?

Hi Idamiana, would you tell me more? Especially for GBP/USD?

Also, any idea why GBP/USD is more talked about than EUR/USD in this forum. Isn't EUR/USD more traded than the former? Thanks.
