Re: Is cable in for a trouncing?
LOL, I thought the last few posts were interesting though they so obviously deviated from the topic on hand. But oh well, this is a forum and anything that is interesting interests me. What a stupid statement, I know. ROFL.
ANYWAY, you guys are really fun people to be around with.

You see, the mentality of "go to school; get an advanced degree; get a good paying job; work hard for the team and you will be rewarded."
These are all rewarding virtues.
Unfortunately,...in trading,...they dont count for spit.
Likewise, our reality would not survive in his world.

But our realities cross to a certain extent, litigation like trading is all about cunning, pre-empting your opponent and coming up with a strategy to beat him, or realise when you have no chance of beating him and giving in gracefully with as little loss as possible, both require a kind of street wisdom and guile. Education and intelligence, although helpful in both professions, are not what it takes to make it in either. The other thing is we've both seen each other in action. On one of the rare occasions the parties didn't settle beforehand I went to court to watch, (the plaintiff was a minor celebrity and there was quite a bit of press coverage). Awesome is the only way I can describe it, the cunning and manipulation was really something to see, an artist at work. I had respect for that. He's also seen me trade and take a few thousand dollars in a few minutes, but the respect I gave him for the job he does wasn't reciprocated for the job I do. Perhaps my job looked too easy to him, I don't know, but to this day he still mocks!
It's ok though, we're having a bbq next weekend....ooops was that a jalapeno, sorry I thought it was a tomato

Re: Is cable in for a trouncing?
Industrial and Manufacturing production numbers are due out tomorow at 8:30 GMT.
Both were previously weaker.
BOE is not expected to change target rate.
Any thoughts on what may move the cable before friday?
Will negative production numbers cause another test of 7500?
Bloomberg reported today that eruo zone currencies are trading in a heavily interest rate sesitive manner. (quietly implying that the production numbers are a non issue)
thoughts, comments, complaints?

Re: Is cable in for a trouncing?
I don't think anything out of Europe is going to influence the market much unless the ECB say/do something extraordinary. Even the G8's discussions about the yuan isn't going to have any impact, China isn't moving yet by the sound of it.
As we speak.....1.75 is a mere 15pips away.....10.....18.....9.....
I guess we have to wait now for New York to see what they think of the Euro, also there's some US data due out at 2pm GMT, any excuse to buy dollars or take profit I reckon!
