Two different Oanda FXTrade live accounts on the same computer using two different browsers, Gbp/Usd and Usd/Jpy are showing different quotes

Could the answer be I had an open short Gbp/Usd trade on the bottom one?

Sorry, no idea. Did you send an email to Oanda's CS desk? They might be able to give you a better answer than you could get here. Or they might give you the runaround, tough to tell.

I don't have two FXTrade accounts but I remember hearing that the price box quotes are different between live and demo accounts. Did the price correct itself pretty quick or did it stay one pip off for a while? If java is installed seperatley for firefox and IE it could have been conflicting but I doubt it.

I take it this occurred over a period of more than just a few seconds. As you intimate the ramifications are that they are trying to get a few more pips out of your patronage. I often wondered about this with another well known broker. One day some people will get together and compare broker prices, then the sheit will hit the fan and the freckles will appear.

Thanks for the suggestion static, java is shared apparantly and the files are cleared every morning.

I spoke to Oanda CS and they said it shouldn't happen.....no, really!

Someone on another forum said it may be one account was updating before the other as quotes are updated every couple of seconds so I guess that could be it.

Thanks guys, I'll keep watching when I don't have any open trades and see if things change.

No, the shading software knows you are short on the other one which is why the price is higher - shading is the moving of the spread inside a window to give the brokerage an advantage.
