xtsunami,

Good advice there. I'll check into that for sure.

cms-forex

In response to your post, I have been with CMS with last

many months, and so far I've found them very good from

client's point of view, order execution is very good even in

a relativly fast market I got the price I wanted not only

in opening the trade but also when closing the position

the charts are excellent, specialy the ability to trade

directly from the charts, since I am a technical trader I

love this feature, so far so good,

By the way what that rumor is about them? would some

body care care to tell me?

Momo,

I'm currently speaking to a company that offers several Forex services. I approached them about an interest in managing an account for me. They initially had chosen FXCM for the broker. Then, they switched to CMS-FOREX, then back to FXCM. The service mentioned that they had a concern about cms-forex's " financial health". That's a vague comment so I don't know the particulars of it. Keep in mind that that was just one opinion. I've spoken to some others on the forum that are very pleased with cms.

I think the best advice I've heard about this so far was from xtsunami. Take a look at his post .

Stop Loss

Hi, Ive been trading only in the demo as i am still learning ForEx trading, but one thing I have noticed is that setting stop loss/tp I am forced to use limits at what I feel are outside the normal range, i.e while the spread is 3/4 pips, I can not put a stop loss closer than ~9 pips away!

If its "just me" then please indicate otherwise, but I find this a bit disapointing in an otherwise great system.
(Although would like more options in the trade window so dont need to keep clicking to set a tp and sl.)

Hi Mizzer,

I have also been trading the demo for the last few weeks. The closest stop I can set when long is 6 pips below the bid, so yes, it's 9 pips below the offer. On the other hand, a really tight stop may get you whipsawed alot, so that doesn't bother me too much. But I'm more of a position trader anyway. The issue I'm having is getting kicked out of the demo for 15-30 minutes a few times per day. (Getting the server unavailable response.) I don't have this problem with the other demos I am running. Is the real trading system like this also? I am getting spoiled by all the nice features of the interface, but that is bothering me.

Best regards,

Merlinson

Yep I can appreciate that whipsaws are capable of taking out the stop at such tight limits (Has happend to me a fair few times now!), but would still like the option of keeping them small.
Ive only been kicked out of the demo once so far (only started using it on Mon but been using for a good 6/7 hours a day), but it is a little worrying if I did have money on the line and keeping an eye on it.

I too enjoy the features that it employs, my only wish is that the Fib. Lines were boxed in the time frame you choose instead of going right across the chart, also, it would be nice to be able to add charts to the tab strip instead of just the "open positions" "Account Summary" etc..

Regarding the problem with Cms-forex demo charts logging you off. I have been using cms for about 6 mos. the demo accounts are on a seperate server than the live trading. I have run both the demo and the live at the same time and can tell you that the live do not go down when the demos do. I aske them about this very problem and was informed that the demo server is where they test the platform improvements that they are doing. I like them.

I trade with Gain & CMS. Here's the good news with CMS: 3 pip spread on E/$ w/ a 1 pip rebate on a 5 lot+; pay overnight interest; good platform; aggressive margin. Now the bad news: slippage; not getting filled on resting orders, I'll get re-quoted a few times a day; and live accounts do get disconnected(last week at least 6 times). I put up with this because I've been with MG, Saxo, FXCM, ACM, & Commerce and they have all been terrible in comparison. Gain for me has been great(minimal slippage, rarely re-quoted, resting orders filled) but I'd like to see them tighten up their spread and provide a platform like CMS'.
