COT report trading in Metatrader

I have just finished reading Floyd Upperman's Commitment of Traders book and I am determined that there must already by in place some code for metatrader to analyze this data. I have found at TSAgroup and at Mr. Uppermans site some pricy software... but im not willing to risk it. I am hoping to start a discussion that could either lead into us creating or finding a way to incorporate this into our trading as I feel it could be great.

I have been working on a COT system myself but it won't be automated. In looking at the COT data and comparing it to currency pair prices in a spreadsheet, I do believe I have found some fairly obvious trends and patterns. But I am just now starting to test the theories I've developed. At this point, I don't know for sure if it will be a standalone leading indicator or if it will simply be another confirmation indicator.

The COT data itself is quite simple and I would encourage anyone who is interested in looking at a derivative indicator to explore the options.

Quite a few places but some charge for it. Here are two free sites I have bookmarked:

BTW, COT data is only published once per week, so don't subscribe to any services thinking you can get daily or real-time COT data. It doesn't exist.

Hi ajhardesty,

I've been working on a system for comparing cot data to currency price as well; might I ask how you normalize the data to a common, graphable set of numbers? I have tried a few methods but nothing that has really worked very well.
