Ken

To my knowledge, this site only gives you a range or the pair, not the actual amount of movement.

In addition to the question above, I would also like to know if there are any sources that give the actual amount of movement (up and down) for each pair (at least the majors).

Re: Daily average Pip moves

historical data provides such information

If i have understood your question correctly, this information can easily be obtained by observing a historical chart for your selected FX pair on any given time period.

Re: Daily average Pip moves

Just open any good charting program, show the daily chart of the pair you are interested in and call up the ATR indicator. Standard is ATR14 which means that this indicator will show you the average true range of the last 14 days. EUR/USD is 88 pips GBP/USD is 109.

Hope this helps

Re: Daily average Pip moves

Hello,

To know average pip moves per day of each pair is really key to success in forex trading.

Do you got your result already?

I would like to know too.

Thank you.

Re: Daily average Pip moves

Hi David,

If you do as Franz suggested you can see the daily range for any pair in any time frame.

If you want to know the daily range, open any daily chart, apply the ATR indicator, if you want to know the annual average, set the ATR at 260 days, it will give you the answer. For the last month, set it at 21 bars etc etc

Good luck

Re: Daily average Pip moves

You asked for the daily average pip moves, but everyone is telling you how to get the daily range.

Range is just the high to low, whereas pip moves is total of movements up and down throughout the day.

Range on EUR/USD is about 130 daily, GBP/USD is about 160 daily.

Total moves could be 2 to 3 times as much... maybe more
