I waited until after the number was released and a clear trend was under way to sell eur/usd. I sold at .2121. Exited for +26 pips. I trade thru CMS. Sold at .2121 and the order was not executed until about 10 minutes later. Then could not place a stop as their server problems erupted for another 10 minutes. Eventulay stop was placed then moved to breakeven. Exited early with +26 pips as mentioned. Could have held longer but was concerned as Services ISM number due at 10:00 eastern USA could cause a little rally to stop me at breakeven. Well this is my story, how about yours?
I straddle traded small amount on fxcm, refco and oanda.
Oanda had 32 pips slippage.
FXCM no slippage.
Refco had 21 pips slippage. I think Refco manuplated the trade. They didnt open the trade till the price retraced. Refco always claims that they are bigger and better then their sister company FXCM. IF FXCM can execute the trade without slippage why refco cant do it? I had a chat with Refco Rep. and they give usual bullshit answers, ultimatly they said we cannot gurrantie anything. Beware of refco I am going to close the account with them soon.
I planned to check certain strategy on a demo account. 2 entry limit orders plus and minus market price at 8.29. It got freezed till 8.35 but finally executed with profit . This was with Refco's
