Re: Dirk du Toit Dirk, First of all, I am an author myself. My ebook sells on Ebay called Forex Phase IV. I must say, after reading your ebook, and many many other courses, next to Alexander Elder, you've been added to my silent mentor list. I purchased your ebook and read it. My trading style as of late tasted some of your ideas, however, some parts were missing. You shed light on the whole picture and for that, I am very greatful. I want to thank you for an excellent view on the markets and for sharing your insights. For those of you who want to learn to trade stress free (well almost anyway) and with renewed confidence, read Dirk's book. Worth its weight in gold, and if you understand his concepts, without a doubt make your money back in full on your first trade. Thanks again. X.

I just finished reading Dirk's book, BWILC. I have spent thousands of dollars on "courses," including one that promises telephone support "at any time." I have a clearcut opinion of BWILC's value, and Dirk's sincerity. Before I state it, let me outline the problem that all us newbies face when we survey what's out there in InternetLand, re FOREX trading advice, whether in the form of books, mentoring, MarketMaker platform features, "tip service," or a combination of same: 1. There is a MAJOR predominance of scam artists, frauds, moneyhounds, among the purveyors of various educational and MM services advertised on the FOREX websites. 2. They use all kinds of come-ons to get us newbies to part with our $$$, Euros, yen, whatever. Among them are: a. "no commissions" b. high leverage (even 400:1 or more) c. "foolproof" trading systems d. almost ubiquitous availability by phone or email to "answer all your questions" e. full charting services with a rich array of indicators f. extensive papertrading features g. low margin requirements h. chatroom services i. free online tutoring sessions j. a long list of enthusiastic testimonials 3. Upon paying the entry fee we get 'behind the curtain' and lo! -- we come face-to-face with the painful truth: another fraud. 4. Or, we peek between the lines and make out enough of the fraud profile beforehand to once again walk away from scamland. Thus it's very reasonable to examine every program out there with considerable caution, and more than a modicum of suspicion. So how does one navigate the labyrinth and come out the other side with a worthwhile choice, in this particular case? I offer you my thoughts as a newbie, based on about a year's worth of paper trading, tempered with eight decades of experiencing life's little foibles on this old globe: 1. Read the posts of those who've read BWILC. 2. Read the posts of those who've been enrolled in Dirk's mentor program, particularly "William_A", 20-01-2005, 14:51 (a concise, accurate summary of Dirk's book and program). 3. Read the posts of those who demand detailed knowledge of Dirk's book, and his mentoring program -- without risking the purchase price of BWILC, understanding that the cost of the book, $50, can disappear in an EYEBLINK when you enter a typical trade on a typical live FOREX platform. 4. Understand one of Dirk's UPFRONT motivations for mentoring: apart from enjoying teaching, he wants to train a cadre of traders to employ in an organization that will permit him to do other things in life than full-time trading (like spending more time with his two daughters and wife :-) ). 5. A CAVEAT: If you are a rank beginner you may not appreciate the depth of some of Dirk's advice. For example, you may be attracted to a leverage of 400:1 ("Man, think of the money I can make by just investing a pocketful of change!") If so, you will slump in disappointment when Dirk says, learn to trade with 1:1 or at most 1:3. Finally, what's my "clearcut opinion of BWILC's value, and Dirk's sincerity"? His book is full of incisive, crisp descriptions of the BASIC requirements to trade with consistent profits. Furthermore he comes across as deeply sincere. Apropos, I once had a salesman turn around and rapidly exit my office when I quoted a wag who said, "You know you've got it made when you can fake - sincerity." [BTW, you know you've arrived at a significant level of maturity when you can instantly discern fake sincerity :-) ]. In closing may I wish all good luck in your and my trading, Billyjim

I purchased the E-Book, BWILC, a while ago and have read it a few times already. This should be required reading for all Forex wannabies. A real insight into the pitfalls of trading. Excellent stuff. Many people jump headlong into Forex without much thought into how the whole business works. This book has certainly helped me in understanding a whole lot more of what goes on behind the scenes which has been of great benefit to my trading. Personally, I would sugest you get it. Stuart

Re: Dirk du Toit New to Moneytec. Interesting to find a 13 page thread about Dirk du Toit. I had no idea he was so famous. I discovered BWILC several months ago and found it compelling reading. I had been drifting around the forex websites trying to get enough knowledge and confidence to trade my way to a fortune. I have spent quite a bit on several courses by salesmen which taught me some basics but trained me to look at this all wrong. It felt wrong (all based on TA, 100:1 or 400:1 leverage, making vast fortunes in no time - free lunch sort of hype.) Dirk's approach seemed to make so much more sense. I have joined up to learn from Dirk in his role as mentor. I am not concerned as to his motives for teaching. I am just pleased that he does do this. So far after a couple of months I feel I am getting to understand what I need to do. I cannot predict what the market will do intraday and neither can anyone. The importance is to have a strategy in place so that it is not so important what happens on any particular day. You can take profits when they are on offer and wait at other times. This is a much more relaxed approach to forex. I think I will be ready to trade live in a couple more months. Dirk has so far done what I expected from him. He poses questions to me, he answers my questions. He always does so promptly. I am very pleased to have someone guiding me carefully into this market. When new to the market it is quite intimidating. He is genuine in what he offers and does. PeterG
