Do you find yourself posting more and more when you are loosing?

I find myself reading forex forums and posting only when I have tough time making money on FX. Say last year I was making 10-50k a months, and was laughing at most of the posts here and people that were wasting there time on posts and discussions on this or any other FX forums out there. This year I keep losing and I find myself reading and posting more and more. It gives me a sense of being in charge of things (when I’m not) and a feeling of participation. And I’m starting to think that FX forums are for losers just to keep them thinking that one day they'll make it. Just keep going: LOSE. Why would they be sponsored by MM's otherwise?
I am sure there are many guys like me, I need you thoughts on this.

P.S. Came out to be an evil and rather depressing thread.

Wow to contribute loosing to reading forum is ludicrous/, to the contrary forums such as MoneyTec where member discuss different strategies and techniques are one of the best thing to happen in trading and help many become more profitable.

Did it make YOU constantly profitable? By the way I’m not saying that reading FX forums will make one lose. I'm just trying to ask whether FX forums are a place that will give most of it's participants a false sense of security or will make them think that everyone can achieve everything. One has to remember that statistically over 90% of FX participants are losers that feed other 10%.

Re: Do you find yourself posting more and more when you are loosing?

While I do not agree with your overall thesis, it does stand to reason that a trader who is making money would tend not to make posts of the "searching for that miracle indicator" type. It also seems logical that a trader that is making money might not post/read a forum if he believed that a forums main purpose was to help those looking for "clues to success." In other words, if a trader only sees forums as a place for those looking to become successful, why would he read/post while things were indeed going his way?

The truth is that there are many things that a successful and not so successful trader can learn in a forum. Only one good piece of information, advice can mean thousands to the bottom line. While a trader may have a "system or method" that can stand the test of time, that does not mean that the learning process ends. Believe it or not, some people do want to help others find their way to success. Like the old adage says, teach something and you learn it twice.

Clearly there are many losing traders on the various boards. We all, as humans, like to see that we are not alone in our struggles. Nobody wants to be the only one that "hasn't figured it out". If a new or poor trader could surround himself only with winning traders (notice I did not say old, as by definition, old traders are winning traders), that would be ideal. Yet, even a new trader can teach another new trader something. Some people have to touch a hot stove to learn not to do it; others just have to be told.

Not to mention that trading can be a lonely pursuit. It can be nice just to "be with" other in said pursuit. Even if most of them are searching for the wrong things: There's a lot less to trading than most people think.

Re: Do you find yourself posting more and more when you are loosing?

Won't you agree that the industry needs fresh meat? Where else one can read stories of an unimaginable success in FX.
I personally got involved in a thread where a MT member claimed to have made decent money on a new platform due to an extremely low spread, that is what we have discussed on that thread. The guy even posted snapshots of his trades. At the end I found out that he didn't even had a live account with that broker. Every forum is full of bogus success stories, or with "profitable" trading strategies that newbies take too seriously.

Re: Do you find yourself posting more and more when you are loosing?

I see more and more of these kind of threads “forum goers are losers” I not only find this ridiculous It’s darn right insulting to all of us users!! Forums are a place where many people learn and enhance trading skills. Not saying there all you need just that thay help many tremendously.
