Question Myth or Reality: Forex Profitable via Managed Accounts

I have done several different managed accounts and even some autotrading with forex. I have read several books and watched charts in front of MT4 for quite awhile now. I am not inclined to be a trader myself, however.

What I have come to realise is many if not most/all the forex traders at Collective2.com and those offered via fx-auto fail to make a sustainable profitable return. I am not greedy and do not need 40% a month. Hell, even 8 - 10% a month would be quite pleasing. Currently I seem to be losing about 10% or more a month with forex.

I have some savings and want to invest in forex with a reliable and proven managed account. I know most "winning" managed account managers will not look at you if you do not invest $100k or more. Frankly, I understand that.

What I am wondering is if there is anyone who has access to such a manager via a pooled account or if there is someone who does prove and deliver sustainable monthly gains and accepts accounts of $10k ++

Is it possible to make money via managed accounts in forex without having $100k or more to invest, and if so, with who and how?

FXCM offers managed accounts. http://www.fxcm.com/managed-funds-about-us.jsp $1000.00 minimum to open.

Hi 4xis2ez

I just looked at the link you provided. Your right they have managed accounts and a very low minimum, but the returns are horrible.

1 fund is negative since inception and have lost more than 8% in last 6 months. The other fund is up 2.5% for a 3 month period. Less than 1% per month. The S&P500 or Dow Index is out performing the FXCM forex funds.

Do you know of any managed funds that are out performing the stock market and returning a healthy return or is Forex really a myth for small investors (under $100k)?

right now you can join via the practice account.

once they roll out the actual platform for use, i'll email the people on the mailing list about it.

you can join the practice (demo) now, see my trading results and that i know what i'm doing and make your decision when the real managed account platform is ready.

i used to require a minimum , but with this platform, i'll only need to make one trade and it will effect all the accounts. so it makes it easy for me as well as the clients.

Never let somebody trade your money based on demo results.

At least be aware of the differing performance of demo's verus live in terms of
  • slippage
  • spread fluctuations and
  • size of positions

Please remove that "f*ck me" sign emblazoned across your psyche.

You'll be dead in 3 months at the rate you're going.

Go back/stay with your day job and forget about Forex and especially managed accounts in Forex.

The scent is already out there so expect more sharks to come charging in soon. Two are already in. More will follow.

Be particularly cautious of anybody with a name like "Forex is too easy" -- this type of name acts like a magnet for newbies. All will be relieved of their savings - pronto!

Even the moderator here has clearly stated that the participants at Moneytec are 95% losers and of the remaining 5% those who claim to be winners are LIARS!

If you insist on getting nailed, the best money manager I know is a chinaman named Lin Gus. His first name is Cunni.

His address is as follows:

Cunni Lin Gus
Eifuku building, 69th floor
Bangcock

Re: Myth or Reality: Forex Profitable via Managed Accounts

lol, funny.

actually TR02 i reckon your advice is kinda right and kinda wrong

it's true that 95% (and more) lose their shirt. However many of the ones that don't lose then go on to be money managers so in effect placing your money with a manager gives you a better chance of making money (statistically speaking) than trying yourself.

Of course this is providing you do the due dilligence involved and don't rely on some idiots backtest or demo account.

The chances are that anyone offering on this forum that have proved accounts is very slim and the chance that a shark will hook this guy is very fat.
