Trading: Hard or Easy - What Say You?

I keep hearing/reading that trading is hard.

I can underst it when people say trading is emotionally
or psychologically hard because hard-earned money is on
the line self-esteem gets linked to trading performance
stuff like that.

Other than that why is trading hard? Thoughts?

What does your own experience tell you? Do you find trading hard? Trading can be difficult precisely because of some of the points you’ve mentioned – which are unique “baggage” (habits beliefs disposition etc) that one brings to the trading table which are not aligned with good trading principles. The greater the misalignment or gap the greater the difficulty. The difficulty is not in the trading but in closing that gap keeping it closed/aligned.

My performance has improved now that I have a routine plans in place. Ok I still do a little bit of "hunch" trading but its only small amounts for intraday. Having a daily plan helps me think clearly takes some of the emotion away. I write down every morning thoughts views see if I can apply these to trades. I'm still affected time to time by emotion do sometimes talk myself out of good trades but these days I never hold onto losing for longer than I planned so at least that side is working very well.

Today I had a trade my exhaustion system in the aususd which made a very quick move entry then profit. I also had some good quick "hunch" trades in the pound where I picked up between 5 20 points a few times. Tomorrow I will be applying the data trading system. Also if the dollar strengthens I will probably get a chance use the exhaustion system again. I sort of have an idea of the area I will be buying but I won't know the exact level till it actually happens.

Didn't we talk about this on another thread? It's the one that hasn't made any losses. In the trading methods bit I think.

I just graduated what Americans would call "highschool" (the school before you go university?).

In order to imise my "edge" concentrate better I went full time July 5th this year.
1 month at System Trading I'm still stuck lol.

The hard part about system trading is looking for an entry/exit/position-size combo that gives positive expectancy IMHO.

This game is hard!
