Giant spikes on all charts

I wonder what could be the reason of giant spikes measuring about 300 pips visible on all charts on day opening. Whether these are the gaps of closing and opening prices, but I have never seen such monsterous thing in my life.

I am sure all those who held long positions over the weekend must not have survived, regardless of where they held their stoploss.

Is it a manipulation or what?

*edit* how frickin' paroniod is the forum host about O.a.n.a.da? If I write that as normal it just deletes..it's not even an URL..I had to resort to substituting a Zero. Guess they have to support the bucket shops that are their sponsors**

Re: Giant spikes on all charts

It is strange to find out that such spikes are not present on other brokers charts, can anyone else see them. I am using Interbank-fx.

I have been trading live with Interbank-fx for over an year and am very satisfied with all aspects of their being a broker. I just found out that they sent an email which is as follows:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Milton!

At the open of the market today we experienced a technical problem. We are working to fix it. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please do not be alarmed. When our technical problem has been resolved all trades will be as they were a few minutes before the market opened today.

No trades or margin calls that happened will be in affect.

Thanks,

I use IBFX for my live trading as well. On one machine that had the trading platform open I see the same spike. On another machine that did not have the platform open, there was no spike.

It was just a glitch, not an actual spike.

when I saw the open price of 1.2212 i used up my entire margin on longs on EURUSD. it even allowed me to close the trades once things normalized, and for an all too brief while I got to bask in the view of my live account having swelled by around 800%!
