That would certainly explain it, 'conviction' meaning having enough confidence in ones strategy to trade it with discipline, is that what you meant?

That might be what he meant, but I didn't get that sense from reading what he wrote. On his site, he wrote: "In this game, with that scenario, there is going to be a winner and a loser. Period. One of you is going to make a few pips, and the other is going to lose a few pips. Which one of you has the most conviction? Which one of you is more confident in the trade? Is it you?"

Looks to me, he is saying that the one with more confidence in the trade is going to be a winner.
